fyi

In case you were wondering, throwing with proper form, even if that means actively focusing while you pivot/wind up/grunt or whatever, does in fact yield better results than just "winging it".
This came as a great suprise to me today.

In other news, it is a good idea to wear cleats and I heard that a good winning strategy is to catch the disc in the endzone over and over.

Next generation ghouls and ghosts

Went to CHS ultimate practice today, pretty sweet. While only five highschoolers were there, they have potential and if they can actually manage to bolster their numbers they will have a pretty sweet squad. Hopefully they take the initative to run a dedicated leaflet and word of mouth recruitment campaign and train hard and get involved in the school community. In any case I'm pumped that they have legit club status, that's a big step from my time there where we played every day until the moniters kicked us off the field.

Anyway, I want to help them out but I'm not sure in what capacity. I don't want to be an annoying graduate the bosses everyone around but I do want to share my experience to help them. They have some skills- Isaac and Eli can throw, Jonah and Steve and Peaches can cut and play hard d (peaches nearly got a layout d on me, I dropped the disc anyway but it was a sweet as heck bid). I really want them to have a real team. We never managed that and we sure as heck should have.

I played alright. A lot of the problems with my game that I attributed to being out of shape actually seem to be mental - when I focus, I can throw fine. I'm not in great shape but not as bad off as I thought either.

Hopefully the sorting will take place this week. That should be fun.
Go Huckindor.

If

If I was a bird I could fly
If I was a rule I would bend
If I want to be a good ultimate player I'll remember how pumped and motivated I was tonight

And understand the spaces between friends

First indoor pickup game of the year

For me, anyway. It was good to get out there.
I'm not in shape.
That sucks.
I'll fix it.

End of the fall season

Not my best work, but hey.
We had fun.
I have a career record of 0 - 3 against Vassar b, in case you were wondering.
Each time we lost by two points.
I love Marist, those guys rule.

We had fun. Gunx 2010 coming soon!
Sup baby.

My game state

Been a while since we played much. Threw with Tom yesterday. I don't really have an edge right now and I'm not top fit aggressive but my throws are not bad. I was lazy form wise at first but mostly had the kinks worked out after an hour or so.

Anyway, this semester of reckless debauchery has been fun as anything but it is time to get back to business. Sectionals training starts this week.
